The Academy organises events, both on its own and together with universities and other scientific organisations, aimed both at academic experts and at the interested public. They are organised by ordinary and corresponding members, by scholars from outside, and by our scientific staff. By means of lectures and symposiums, such as those of the BAdW Forum for Technology and the Commission for Ecology, whose "roundtable discussions" have already acquired a certain tradition, the Academy also addresses questions highly relevant to society. Amongst them are the problems of cell-phone technology, climate change, the destruction of forests by environmental pollution, and the supply of energy. Since 1977 a regular event has been the "Werner Heisenberg Lectures", in which the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation together with the Academy invites scholars from outside to report on their research and to give the coming generation of scholars the opportunity for an exchange of views.

The assembly room of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities regularly hosts lectures, conferences and symposiums.
