Wörterbuch der Klassischen Arabischen Sprache (Dictionary of Classical Arabic)
The Commission for Semitic Philology supports the Wörterbuch der Klassischen Arabischen Sprache (Dictionary of Classical Arabic), which records and codifies the classical Arabic vocabulary from the pre-Islamic era up till the early Islamic Middle Ages in the style of a thesaurus, published by the Deutsche Morgenländische Gesellschaft (German Oriental Society).
The Commission is also involved in the major inter-academic project to catalogue the oriental manuscripts in Germany and has been given the task of cataloguing the Arabic manuscripts in the Bavarian State Library.
